Shane Bishop: Question and answer workshop on the keynote theme: Rediscovering our Christian voice.

Trey Hall: Christianity as Second Language: Evangelism in a Post-Christendom World

Up until very recently, the majority of the western world spoke Christianity as their first language. That’s not true or is on the brink of not being true anymore. In Britain, those who avow ‘no religion’ now outnumber those who are religiously affiliated — a trend that is growing across the West.

This workshop will reflect on this seismic cultural change and teach two foundational practices that will help the church explore authentic evangelism for the 21st century.

Gareth Higgs: Recent research from the Church of England and the Methodist Church shows that ‘welcome’ plays a crucial role in retention of visitors and the growth of the church. Gareth will share stories of how he has practically shaped a culture of welcome within a local church, used this for evangelistic methods and seen churches grow in number. There will be a number of practical tips that any of us can quickly apply to enhance our own local church welcome and see God’s church grow.

Don Frazure: Worship at Christ Church – Our Journey Navigating Change in Worship. To navigate changing times, a renewal of Sunday worship must be a priority for churches. Yet for many, the focus of worship renewal has stagnated primarily around music style. The style of worship a church chooses is only one part of the larger process of worship renewal. In this session, Don Frazure, Pastor of Worship Arts at Christ Church in Fairview Heights, Illinois, will share how Christ Church has navigated worship changes over the past decade, and in the process grown to a weekly average of 2300 in worship attendance and one of the fastest growing churches in the U.S.A.
